When I suddenly was required to sell my parents dream home, Sarah became my saviour. My father was in a nursing home and could not actively participate in the sale. I have POA and POP, so the burden fell on me. I was anxious and upset to see my parents home, now being sold, my mother has died many years ago.
Sarah demonstrated caring, and compassion towards myself in an emotional time. She arrived to stage the four bedroom home that was full of knick-knacks and memories, with suggestions of the required refreshing of a 25 year old home.
Sarah also came prepared with the current market values in the neighbourhood and gave a realistic proposal of the sale value. I found many of my parents neighbours overwhelming, when they approached me to ask what I was going to list the home at, obviously concerned that I would keep their homes value up.
I also had to consult and Estate Lawyer, Sarah was able to provide me with the name of a Lawyer, who came to visit my father at nursing home. The final paperwork was provided for my father to sign, out of respect for his legacy.
Sarah was always available for consulting and answering any last minute questions regarding the sale.
The whole process could have been very painful, reinforcing the loss. Instead I felt relieved and grateful for having Sarah in my corner.
